Annual Conference of the Canadian Association
of Nurses in AIDS Care to be held April
30-May 3 at the Banff Centre in Banff,
Alberta. The conference theme focuses
on Health Promotion in the context of
living with HIV and the vital work that
nurses do in this area. This year's conference
brings a variety of speakers who are eager
to share their knowledge and experiences.

Conference
Venue:
The Banff Centre is the official site
of the 13th Annual Conference and is situated
a few minutes from the heart of Banff.
The Banff Centre is Canada's centre for
creative excellence in mountain culture,
the arts and conferences. CANAC Conference
guests will have free access to indoor
and outdoor activities including access
to the Sally Borden Building for recreation
- bring your bathing suit there's a pool
and whirlpool! Or take a trip to the town
of Banff, well known for its' restaurants
and shopping.
Registration:
Registration includes participation in
all conference activities. Registration
is being handled through the Banff Centre
and registration forms can be filled out
on-line by going to the CANAC website

Accommodation:
A special rate of $117.00 single ($61
per person double) has been negotiated
for a block of rooms reserved for the
conference. As a bonus, delegates who
bring a spouse/partner will pay single
room rate if the spouse/partner is not
attending the conference. AND, the conference
rate will be honoured for 3 days pre and
post-conference; a perfect opportunity
to add a vacation for two! But you must
reference the CANAC 2005 Conference. Room
reservations are made when registering
for the conference.
Meals
The Banff Centre is providing a "meal
package" to conference delegates
staying at the Banff Centre- this covers
all meals and breaks starting with dinner
April 30th, through to lunch on May 3rd
and includes the Reception (buffet dinner)
and Gala Dinner. The package is only $199.55
per person (see registration form).
Off-Site
Accommodation
The Banff Centre is very close to the
town of Banff. However, conference delegates
staying off-site will be charged an off-site
fee of $33.85 per day to cover meal and
nutrition breaks and access to Banff Centre
facilities. There is also an additional
charge for off-site delegates to attend
the Reception and Gala Dinner.
Getting
to Banff from the Calgary International
Airport:
Delegates are responsible for arranging
transportation from the Calgary Airport
to Banff. The Banff Airporter offers multiple
transfers from the Airport to Banff. Reservations
can be made by calling 1-888-449-2901
or at www.banffairporter.com.

Languages:
All plenary and workshop sessions will
be provided in English. Abstract presentations
will be presented in the language in which
they were submitted (English or French).
A complete conference program with summaries
of all abstracts and presentations will
be provided at registration in French
and English.
Awards
of Excellence:
The annual awards of excellence event
promises to be a vibrant celebration as
we acknowledge the significant contribution
of nurses in AIDS care. The dinner and
celebration are included in the cost of
registration; extra tickets are available
for guests at a cost of $50.00 per person.
