conference offers an opportunity
for nurses who are interested in
HIV/AIDS to get together and share
ideas and experiences about HIV/AIDS
nursing. The conference will feature
the latest information on care and
treatment, critical policy issues,
issues affecting vulnerable populations,
challenges in caring, and current
nursing research findings. A selection
of concurrent sessions, posters
and plenaries will feature nurses
and other health care workers who
have an expertise in the field of
HIV/AIDS and related disciplines.

Tours
of Two Supervised Injection Sites
- April 14 & 15 (morning) and
April 16 (afternoon) Plan
your itinerary to include a tour
of Insite, North America's
only free standing supervised injection
site, located in Vancouver's Downtown
Eastside, or the Dr. Peter Centre's
supervised injection site. The tours
will be conducted by staff at the
sites. There is no charge for the
tour, but you must pre-register
using the online conference registration
form. The tours are from 0730 -
0830 on Saturday (Insite),
from 0830 - 0930 on Sunday (Insite)
and Monday from 1645 - 1745 (Dr.
Peter Centre). Each tour will
be limited to 50 participants. Registrations
will be accepted on a first come,
first served basis. We will provide
details about getting to the sites
closer to the conference dates.
Gala/Awards
Dinner
This
year's Gala/Awards Dinner,
on Monday, April 16th, will be held
at Federico's Supper Club.
Located in Vancouver's funky Commercial
Drive area and rich in art deco inspirations,
Federico's offers an atmosphere
of celebration with a nostalgic twist
and a splash of Italian tradition.
Dine to superbly prepared Italian
cuisine, while you enjoy live dinner
music including latin/ballroom, traditional
Italian, and contemporary hits. Federico
crowns the evening with his Vegas-style
show and tributes to legendary favorites:
Tom Jones, Elvis, Neil Diamond, the
Beatles and more. The theme is "dress
for dancing and wear some bling".
The Gala/Awards Dinner is always a
high point at CANAC conferences. Don't

Film
Festival
Make
sure that your travel plans get you
to Vancouver by Saturday, April 14,
so that you can attend the first-ever
CANAC Film Festival. Films and panel
discussions focus on gay men, meth
and HIV issues, women and HIV, and
outreach nursing. The Film Festival
is free for conference delegates and
open to the public for an admission

Languages
This
conference is bilingual and you
are invited to present in the language
of your choice. Simultaneous translation
will be provided the plenary sessions.
Abstract sessions will not have
this service. The conference program,
containing abstract and presentation
summaries in both languages, will
be provided at registration.
